Giant Tostada

Crust:
1 ¾ cup flour
2 tablespoons yellow cornmeal
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup milk
¼ cup vegetable oil

Filling:
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
1 ¼ ounce package  taco seasoning\
½ cup water|
1 (16 ounce) can refried beans

Crust:  Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt in bowl.  Add milk and oil.  Stir until dough forms a ball.  Turn onto lightly floured surface.  Knead five times.  Roll out to fit a 12-inch pizza pan.  Place on greased pan and spread to form a rim around the edge.  Prick with a fork.  Bake at 425 degrees for 7-8 minutes.  While crust is baking, mix filling.  Brown ground beef and onion.  Drain.  Add taco seasoning and water.  Stir well.  Cook 3-4 minutes until most of the water is absorbed.  When crust is baked, spread refried beans over it and top with meat mixture.  Sprinkle with shredded cheese.  Return to 425 degree oven and bake another 8-9 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is melted.  Top with chopped lettuce and tomatoes if desired.  Cut into wedges and serve with taco sauce and sour cream if desired.  Easy and good.  Reheats well in microwave.
